Internships
We offer unpaid internships to students interested in exploring careers in Fair Trade and Social Justice. Applicants must be a student in a college/university. We can work with you to offer academic credit. Internship positions are approximately 3 months in duration, hours are flexible and range from 15-25 hours per week, and we can work around a class or work schedule.
Ideal candidates will have an interest in fair trade and social justice.

Operations Internships
- Intern will be responsible for daily operation of the business.
This is an unpaid position and interns are required to have their own laptops - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks( not necessary but plus)
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Must be able to stand on extended hours, occasionally lift heavy boxes
- Comfortable with research and phone outreach
- Maintain and update Hamro Village wholesale / retail records and perform administrative duties,
such as inventory counts, web inventory updates, and order fulfillment - Perform ad-hoc

Sales/Business Development Internships
Intern will be responsible for engagement, cultivation and maintenance of the customer relationship providing a combination of superior customer service and flexible solutions that result in the best experiences for our customers.This is an unpaid position and interns are required to have their own laptops.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and cultivate successful long-term relationships with customers
- Deliver exceptional customer service and product knowledge
- Assists with daily operation and marketing ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Participating in account sales forecast and balance
- Staff trade show and promotional events as needed
- Comfortable with research and phone outreach

Product Development Internships
Internship position will involve development, and design of new product lines out of Felt or Textiles. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to research the market by way of trade shows and other inspirations, identify new and upcoming product trends, and work with our producers partners.
Interns are welcome to work from home to do their independent design projects, although you must be able to come to our office on various projects 1-2 times a week. This is an unpaid position and interns are required to have their own laptops.
This internship is a great portfolio builder.

Essential:
- Technical knowledge of felt /textile fabric development
- Research and identify contemporary product trends, themes, concepts
- Troubleshoot issues with product quality and color
- Create and maintain a design library for team use and reference
- working knowledge of photoshop and illustrator are a plus
- A stickler for the details
- Make color combo variations for products
- Occasionally assist with general office duties, including order fulfillment
- Represent Hamro brand at industry wholesale trade shows
Qualifications:
- Textile/Felt Product development experience
- Vendor relations experience working with Overseas producer partners a plus
- Excellent communication, mindful, and respect for different cultures
- Sound understanding of design, merchandising, and product development
